THE
MOST HOLY TRINITY
Today’s
Gospel is about the mystery of our Triune God, the Most Holy Trinity. The One God in three Divine Persons is a unity of love and
glory. We can never understand the
mystery of the Trinity; but we can understand the power of love when it is a
unity. We see the power of the
unity of love in communities that reach out to help others. We are deeply touched by the collective efforts of people
joining together to make good things happen for others. In this same unity of love – Divine Love – the Most Holy
Trinity sustains our faith.
Living
the Word: Slowly pray the Apostles’ Creed
and reflect on our statements of belief in the Trinity.
PASTOR’S
DESK
FAREWELL
We will have a farewell
for Sr. Kaye Lednik, CSJ, SVF’s Director of Religious Education and Judy Verny,
SVF’s Pastoral Associate on Sunday, July 1, 2007 after the 10:30 a.m. Mass in
the Community Building. Sr. Kaye
and Judy’s last day at St. Vincent Ferrer will be June 30, 2007.
This farewell celebration will provide the parish an opportunity to thank
them for their many years of dedicated service.
MONTH
OF THE SACRED HEART
June is the month that is
dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This
is one of the most beautiful devotions in the Church and is a constant reminder
of the unconditional love God has for each one of us.
Jesus’ example of reconciling love is a good message for all of us as
we look forward to spending time with family and friends in the coming days of
summer.
PRIEST
CONVOCATION JUNE 12 THROUGH 14
Fr. George Kunkel will
attend the Archdiocesan Priest Convocation called by Archbishop Pilarczyk.
Therefore St. Vincent’s will
have Communion Services at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – June
12, 13 & 14. Please pray
for the priests of the Archdiocese during this time.
CHANGE
OF WEEKDAY MASS FOR SUMMER TO 8:00 AM & TO THE CHAPEL
Beginning
Monday, June 4
Fr. George Kunkel mentioned this back at the Town Meetings in
August of 2006.
We would also like to save the parish money on our “prime
time” usage for electricity in Church. If
our daily Mass begins earlier, we can have funeral Masses earlier which also
will help us save a tremendous amount of money on the cost of electricity.
-Fr. George Kunkel

Practicing
Peace
A
devotional walk through the Quaker tradition
By:
Catherine Whitmire
Code:
Inspirational
In
Practicing Peace, Catherine
Whitmire introduces the Quaker tradition of peacemaking and applies it to
everyday situations. From practicing peace at home to actively pursuing
nonviolence in the world around us, she affirms that peace is practical,
desirable, and attainable for spiritual seekers of all religious traditions.
Listening
to both contemporary and traditional voices, Practicing
Peace
weaves 350 years of Quaker peace teachings together into a compelling devotional
guide. Each section encourages the
practice of peace through inspirational stories of nonviolence, memorable quotes
from Quaker peacemakers, and pointed questions that will transform you into an
instrument of peace in a war-torn world.
Whether
you are just beginning or have long traveled on the road to peaceable living,
Whitmire will provide you with the tools necessary for the journey.

Paper
Recycling
As the school
year is coming to an end, we would like to thank all of the SVF staff, faculty
and students who have supported the recycling program throughout the year by
collecting their paper trash and taking it to the recycling bin.
This has been a terrific way to save trees while earning money for SVF!
The
paper-recycling program will continue throughout the summer.
Please bring your paper trash to the green and yellow recycling bin on
the SVF parking lot near the community building.
Remember, Only paper, magazines, and newspapers are accepted.
NO PLASTIC BAGS, CARDBOARD or PHONE
BOOKS. Thank you!
