MOST
HOLY BODY & BLOOD OF CHRIST
Every
Mass is a celebration of Christ’s body and blood, and today we celebrate a
feast honoring this truth. We bring
to mind the beautiful words of Jesus: ”My flesh is real food; my blood is real
drink.” By Jesus’ own words of
invitation, we gather around the table to share his body and blood and to become
one with him. Every time we extend our cupped hands, receive the body and blood
of Christ, and offer our acclamation of “Amen”, we accept Jesus’
invitation to become his body and blood in the world.
Prayer
Moment: Thank you, God, for giving us your
Son’s body and blood as sacred nourishment.
PASTOR’S
DESK
The ballots from the Parish Pastoral Council Election last weekend have been counted, and John Abraham, Amy Hobler & Mary Kay Lynch have been elected to member-at-large positions. Carole Rich was elected as the School Commission Representative.
Congratulations to all the new members of the Parish Pastoral Council and a sincere word of thanks to all the parishioners who placed their names in nomination.
I am especially grateful to all those members of the Council who are completing their term.
HONORING
THE CLASS OF 2008 –
May
31 & June 1
We would like to invite
all of our parishioners who are graduating this year from elementary school,
high school, college and graduate school to attend any Mass on May 31 or June 1.
We will give a special Baccalaureate blessing to honor our graduates and
to thank God for their accomplishments.
MEMORIAL
DAY MASS
On
Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, we will have Mass at 9:00 a.m. in Church. It
will be a great opportunity to gather as one Eucharistic body to pray for our
beloved dead. May all the faithful
departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
ALL
PARISH OFFICES will be closed on
Monday, May 26 for Memorial Day. Also,
there will be no Solemn Exposition.
CATHOLIC
MINISTRIES APPEAL
The Catholic Ministries Appeal continues this week in our parish. Our parish response to the Catholic Ministries Appeal to date is $17,389. We have reached 56% of our parish goal. We are most grateful to those who have been so generous. We ask that everyone in our parish participate with a gift of any amount. Every gift helps.
