CATHOLIC
MINISTRIES APPEAL
-Fr. George Kunkel
3rd SUNDAY OF EASTER
In
today’s Gospel, two of Jesus’ followers recognized him in the blessing,
breaking, and sharing of bread. In
every Eucharist, we have an Emmaus experience.
We know Jesus present in his word and in the breaking of the bread.
Our awareness of his presence in the Eucharist makes our hearts burn
within us. The presence of Jesus in
the Eucharist makes it possible for us to recognize Jesus everywhere –
especially in the people we walk with in life every day.
Prayer
Moment: Fill
me with joy in your presence, Risen Lord.
IN
MEMORIAM
Your
prayers are requested for the soul of Clare Leroux whose Mass of Christian
Burial was held March 31.
VOCATION VIEW
Recognize
Jesus in the breaking of bread. Your
heart is burning within you. Think
about the possibility of walking the path with Jesus as a brother, sister,
priest, or deacon.
(Luke
24:13-35)
Nominations
to the Parish Pastoral
Council
for three (3) Member-at-Large positions, and one (1) Non-School Parent
Representative for School Commission, will be held the weekend of April 12 &
13. Nominees for Parish Council must be at least 16 years of age. Parishioners
are encouraged to nominate anyone, as well as themselves, for these positions.

serving our country.

The Hospital or Recovering at Home:
So
that as a parish we can keep in our prayers those in our community who are ill,

School Stories
Did
You Know??
The students and staff at St. Vincent's participated in a retreat on Wednesday, March 19, during Holy Week. A prayerful day was spent for everyone. Our activities included guided meditation, various religious videos, a "Living Rosary", the Way of the Cross, a rock story and activity, and our "Rice Bowl Luncheon”.
The luncheon was a very powerful activity. All students and staff were given a bowl of rice for lunch. We spoke about people in third world countries who only receive this amount of food for a day if they are fortunate enough to receive food at all. Everybody had a better understanding of our world's hunger issues after this day!
Our thanks to Mrs. McMichael, our Director of Faith Formation, and all of our staff and parents who helped plan this great day!
