PASTOR’S
DESK
Our
parish Bingo reopened last October, and so far it is a success.
Our Bingo has earned enough to pay all its start up expenses and,
beginning in February, started to pay profits to the parish.
TO STAY SUCCESSFUL, WE NEED YOU – TO VOLUNTEER.
It takes about 11 volunteers each weekend to run Bingo.
Many people have helped us get started, but now we need additional
volunteers. Can you work once a month, once every other month, once each
quarter? Our Bingo provides new
(and needed) income for St. Vincent Ferrer Parish.
Please participate in making this a success.
To volunteer, call Brenda Hauser at 984-8446 or e-mail B.Hauser@remax.net

791-9030.
CATHOLIC
MINISTRIES APPEAL
-Fr. George Kunkel
4th
SUNDAY OF EASTER
In
today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us that he is with us so that we might have life
– “and have it more abundantly”. What
is life “more abundantly”? It
is the spirit of community that we know as one flock believing in Jesus, our
Good Shepherd. As one flock
following the voice of Jesus, we are a community “there for” one another.
We live together, pray and worship together, care for one another, and
serve one another. We are also
“there for” others around the world. As
one community, we reach out to all those in need, serve them, and let them see
our love for them – because as one, we hear the voice of our Good Shepherd and
follow him.
Prayer
Moment: May
we know community among ourselves, Good Shepherd, and reach out in love to the
global community of all people.
IN
MEMORIAM
Please
remember in your prayers the soul of Minna Weizenecker whose Mass of Christian
Burial was held April 9.
BAPTISMS
Please
welcome the newest members of our faith community: Ethan Michael Brown,
son of Christopher & Kimberly Brown and Kirby James Fortney, son of
Stephen Schroeder & Kathleen Fortney who were recently baptized.
VOCATION VIEW
Whose voice will you follow – the Good Shepherd’s or a stranger’s? Pray for a listening heart. (John 10:1-10)
Nominations
to the Parish Pastoral
Council
for three (3) Member-at-Large positions, and one (1) Non-School Parent
Representative for School Commission, will be held the weekend of April 12 &
13. Nominees for Parish Council must be at least 16 years of age. Parishioners
are encouraged to nominate anyone, as well as themselves, for these positions.
Nominating ballots will be available in Church on April 12 & 13 as well as
in the Parish Office. Elections will be held five weeks later on the weekend of
May 17 & 18.

Please
keep in your prayers all the men and women who are currently in the military
serving our country.
In
The Hospital or Recovering at Home:
So
that as a parish we can keep in our prayers those in our community who are ill,
St. Vincent Ferrer Parish would like to publish the names of those parishioners
and their families who are in the hospital, recovering from an illness or going
through treatments. We ask that you
contact the Parish Office at 791-9030.

Did
You Know??
Two of our graduates were recently honored as "March Scholars" at Mount Notre Dame High School. Lynley Boone and Monica Ruscher, both from the SVF Class of 2004, were the deserving Recipients!
Lynley was named the March "Visual Arts" scholar and Monica was named the "Spanish" March Scholar! Both of these young ladies have represented St. Vincent's very well since leaving us in June 2004. They continue to do a great job and we are very proud of their efforts and those grads who continue to help spread the "good word" about our school and parish!
