SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
In
this story, a man went away on a journey. He
must have been very wealthy because he entrusted large portions of his money to
three of his servants. The first
two servants invested the money during the master’s absence and it yielded
great returns. The third servant,
however, was fearful of investing (or some scholars say he was lazy).
In either case, the servant buried the money he was given and returned
the full amount to the master when he came home. The master was pleased with the investments of the first two
servants, but was very upset with the third one. To those who have much, much more will be given.
To those who have little, even that little will be taken away.
Reflection:
God has given each one of us talents.
Sometimes out of laziness or lack of ambition, or sometimes because we
are afraid of failure or ridicule, we do not share our talents.
The gospel today challenges us to take a risk and invest our gifts for
the greater good of God’s people. We
do this ourselves as adults, but we must also try to help others recognize their
talents and use them in a productive way.

NATURAL
FAMILY PLANNING OUTREACH SPEAKER AT ALL MASSES ON NOV 15 &16
Fr.
Matthew Habiger, O.S. B. a monk of St. Benedict’s Abbey in Atchison, Kansas,
will speak on Natural Family Planning. NFP
is a thoroughly researched, safe, medically effective and family-supportive
method of fertility regulation which can be used to avoid a pregnancy or to
achieve one. It has been
effectively used worldwide for 20 years. Catholic
married couples who practice NFP will be available in the community building
Chapel to answer questions after all the Masses on November 15 & 16.
A door collection will be taken up after Masses to support NFP.

CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT – collection Nov. 22 & 23
CCHD is the Catholic
Church’s anti-poverty program here in the United States.
It supports groups of low-income people as they work to bring long-term
change to their lives and communities. They
provide educational programs to help Catholics reflect on their faith and build
solidarity across economic lines. They also raise awareness about the root
causes of poverty in our country and our faith-based call to address it. There is an envelope in your church packet for this special
collection, please be generous.

NEWS
DID YOU KNOW…
We
all know that we just elected our new president. Mrs. Frooks, our first grade
teacher, asked her children what they would do if they were our president. Here
are some of the responses from our first graders:
I would make everyone be kind, gentle and nice.
I would give some money to all of the poor people.
I would make everybody do the right thing.
I would lower the taxes.
I would never be mean and love God!
They have beautifully displayed their ideas in the hallway outside their classroom. I think these are ideas that would benefit all Americans and our world!
