St. Vincent Ferrer School - Financing SVF

You have an important financial decision to make for your family. You must decide how to finance your child’s tuition at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic School. This in-depth web page offers you important information about how to afford this investment for your child.

What kind of returns will my child receive from an education at St. Vincent Ferrer School?

  1. Your child receives a superior academic education as indicated by our students scoring higher on standardized test scores when compared to both archdiocese and national averages.

  2. Your child receives a dynamic faith-based education that permeates every single class.  In addition, you child plans and participates in weekly liturgies, including Mass each Wednesday.

  3. Your child receives a vibrant co-curricular experience as evidenced in such programs as the Artist-in–Residence where they experience poetry, dance, quilting, and writing with an Ohio artist for two weeks.

  4. Your child receives extra-curricular advantages in such programs as Hands on Science.  Parent volunteers in chemistry and physics lead this activity.  And yes, our students enjoy Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) athletics.

You understand these values, but you may need a plan to finance your child’s ability to experience them at St. Vincent Ferrer. The following is a review of the tuition at St. Vincent Ferrer as well as the financial options available to you.

Active parishioner rates (K-8) for the 2008-09 academic year are:

One student =             $3,100 + $125 non-refundable technology fee due at registration.

Two students =            $6,200 + $250 non-refundable technology fee due at registration

Three students =          $7,700 + $375 non-refundable technology fee due at registration

The inactive/non-parishioner rate (K-8) is $4,750 per student + $125 non-refundable technology fee due at registration.  Active parishioner tuition rates are offered to families who worship at, volunteer at, and contribute financially to St. Vincent Ferrer Parish.  Tuition only covers about 50% of the cost to educate your child at our school. The parish subsidizes about 40% of this cost, while the remaining 10% comes from state reimbursements and other donations to the school .

Here are some options available to pay your tuition.

Option # 1:  You can pay in full by the first day of school. About 5 % of our current school families are able to utilize this option.

Option # 2:  Unless you clearly feel that you will not be eligible, you should apply for institutional financial assistance at St. Vincent Ferrer. Nearly 20% of school families have applied in the past, with many receiving some level of assistance. In order to apply, please contact the school office to obtain a Private School Aid Service (PSAS) application, which requires 2007 tax return information. All information is kept strictly confidential. Forms are mailed to PSAS, which sends a report to St. Vincent Ferrer School with suggested financial assistance amounts. St. Vincent Ferrer School determines the individual awards based on this report. If you decide to apply and need help completing the application, please contact the school.

Option # 3:  You can also choose to arrange a payment plan that begins July (adjusted if you are enrolling after July) and ends in April. This is the most popular option at our school. Most of our families pay over this 10-month period. Pay Your Tuition by EFT
